How to use today’s panchang on Tithi.live

Tithi.live is a free Hindu (Vaidik) panchang for families in India and neighbouring regions. The homepage is the daily desk: pick a city, confirm the date (India calendar day, IST), then read tithi, nakshatra, yoga, paksha, sunrise, sunset, rahu kaal, brahma muhurta and abhijit muhurta in one place. Ads, when shown, are secondary to this publisher content.

A panchang is not a luck widget. It is a structured almanac. Each field answers a different question. Tithi tells you the lunar day used for most vratas. Nakshatra is the Moon’s mansion that day. Sunrise and sunset anchor fasting end-times and sandhya. Rahu kaal is a weekday caution window that moves with local day length. Brahma muhurta sits before local sunrise; abhijit is a midday helper. Festival listings tell you whether the day is ordinary or named.

A five-minute morning routine

  1. Set the city in the header to the place where the rite or travel actually happens.
  2. Confirm today’s date — or pick another day only when you are planning ahead.
  3. Read tithi and paksha. Ask: is this a common fasting tithi in our family?
  4. Note rahu kaal before starting a journey, signing, or opening something new.
  5. Open vrat and festivals if the week looks busy, or a Learn guide if a term is unfamiliar.

After two weeks of this habit, the page stops feeling like a dashboard of foreign words and starts feeling like a family calendar. That literacy is the product.

Why every city has its own clock

India uses one civil timezone (IST), but the Sun does not. Agartala and Guwahati see dawn while Mumbai is still dark. Delhi’s summer day is longer than Chennai’s. Ujjain is a classical meridian in jyotish literature; it is still not the correct sunrise for a Bengaluru mundan. Tithi.live therefore refuses a single “India rahu kaal” poster. Open the city hub — Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Ujjain and the expanding list in the location control.

When you forward a time to family, include the city name and the date. A screenshot of “1:30–3:00” without a place is incomplete, and it is how relatives apply the wrong window.

What this site will not pretend to be

We are not a substitute for a family purohit, a temple authority, a physician, or a court. Horoscope columns are general guidance. Regional schools (amanta vs purnimanta month naming, smarta vs vaishnava ekadashi) can disagree by a day. For a wedding, griha pravesh, or a medically sensitive fast, confirm with a trusted local source. Our About page explains how we prepare data and how to send a correction.

If live field cards for a date are still filling in, this article and the guides library remain the useful part of the page. A panchang site should teach the calendar, not only paint numbers into cards.

Bengaluru panchang — local sunrise, tithi and rahu kaal

Bengaluru panchang is calculated for the city’s latitude and local sunrise, not for a generic “India time.” Rahu kaal, brahma muhurta and sunset therefore differ from Delhi or Kolkata on the same English date.

Coordinates
12.97° N, 77.59° E
Typical sunrise
about 6:00–6:30 AM IST through most of the year
Calendar note
Kannada-speaking households often follow regional panchanga print editions alongside a national lunar tithi. Festival names may appear in Kannada; the underlying tithi is the same astronomical day.

Because Bengaluru sits farther south than the Hindi belt, its solar day length stays comparatively even across seasons. That means rahu kaal windows do not stretch as dramatically in June as they do in Delhi, and winter sunrises are not as late as in the far north. If you moved from North India, do not reuse a Delhi screenshot for a Bengaluru meeting.

Software and office culture in the city makes weekday rahu kaal a practical planning field: many families still avoid signing a lease, starting a long drive to Mysuru or initiating a housewarming during the marked window. Everyday stand-ups and already-running work are not “blocked.” Use the caution window for beginnings, not for panic.

Temple schedules around Basavanagudi, Malleswaram and the outer IT corridors still track local sunrise for sandhya and some vrat parana times. Ekadashi, Sankashti and Shivaratri crowds are easier to plan when you know the city’s tithi at sunrise rather than a WhatsApp forward from another state.

Tithi.live’s Bengaluru page is meant to be a morning habit: confirm tithi and nakshatra, note rahu kaal before travel, then open festivals if a vrat falls this week. Pair it with our guides on tithi and rahu kaal if a term is new.

Practical tips for Bengaluru

  • Always label shared timings “Bengaluru” so relatives in other cities do not apply the same clock.
  • Kannada UI is available in the header language menu if elders prefer native labels.
  • For wedding muhurta, treat this page as a first filter and confirm with a local purohit who knows family sampradaya.

While live timings load: understand today’s panchang

Detailed tithi cards for Bengaluru on 19 September 2026 are not available in our dataset yet. You can still learn how the Hindu calendar works, browse other cities or dates, and read our free guides—so this page remains useful.

What a complete daily panchang includes

A practical panchang reading covers lunar markers (tithi, paksha, nakshatra), weekday (vara), solar anchors (sunrise and sunset), caution windows such as rahu kaal, and helpful muhurtas like brahma muhurta and abhijit muhurta. Festival and vrat lists then tell you whether the day carries special observance in many Hindu homes.

Because sunrise and day length differ by city, the same English date can show different clock times in Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, and Ujjain. Always confirm location before sharing timings with family.

How to use Tithi.live every morning

  1. Select your city and date in the header.
  2. Read tithi, nakshatra, sunrise, and rahu kaal on the panchang cards.
  3. Open festivals if you are tracking vrat or tyohar this week.
  4. Use the Learn guides when a term is new—start with “What is tithi?”
