Panchang vs Horoscope: Which Tool Answers Which Question?
Stop mixing tools. Panchang times the day for a city; horoscope sketches a sign. This guide keeps them honest.
Two products, two jobs
Panchang answers: what is the lunar day, when does the sun rise in this city, when is rahu kaal, is there a named vrat? Horoscope (rashifal) answers: what is a general tone for people reading under this rashi label today? Mixing them creates fake conflicts — “my mesh rashifal is great but rahu kaal is now, so which is true?” Both can be true because they are not competing for the same slot.
Tithi.live publishes both so a family can stay on one site. The homepage leads with panchang because that is the calendar. Rashifal is a side room with a clear disclaimer.
A useful household rule: if the question contains a city or a clock, open panchang. If the question is “how might Mesh types feel today,” open rashifal. If the question is “should we delay the ambulance,” do neither — act.
When to open panchang
Fasting days, temple visits, travel starts, contract signing, naming a child’s rite day, checking whether ekadashi has begun at sunrise. Anything with a clock and a city.
- City + date required.
- Fields: tithi, nakshatra, sunrise, rahu kaal, muhurta, festivals.
- Output: a schedule, not a personality.
When to open rashifal
A light morning read, a conversation starter, a reminder to be kinder in one area of life. Not for surgery, litigation, or diagnosing a relationship. Our sign pages also teach what each rashi traditionally emphasises so the column is not a black box.
E-E-A-T and advertising
We label horoscope as general guidance in About, Disclaimer, and on the rashifal hub. Publisher content (explainers + live fields) remains the primary purpose of each page. Ads must not replace that. If a forecast feed is down, the educational sign articles still give the page a reason to exist.
Frequently asked questions
If my rashifal is good, can I ignore rahu kaal?
No. Rahu kaal is a city-and-weekday solar window. Rashifal is a sign column. They do not cancel each other. For a start-time, use panchang.
Is Moon sign the same as today’s nakshatra?
No. Your rashi (in popular Indian columns) is usually a natal Moon sign. Today’s nakshatra is where the Moon sits now. Both involve the Moon; they are not the same number.
