Niyam (rules)

1. Follow satvik diet and avoid tamasic substances on the vrat day.
2. Keep speech truthful, calm, and devotional.

Vidhi (how to observe)

1. Wake early, bathe, and set up a clean puja space.
2. Light a lamp and invoke the deity linked to the observance.
3. Offer flowers, fruit, and simple bhog with family prayers.
4. Read the vrat katha and chant the recommended mantra.
5. Conclude with aarti and break fast only in the prescribed window.
6. Clean and decorate home; light diyas at entrance and altar.
7. Perform Lakshmi puja in Pradosh kaal with coins, rice, and sweets.
