Many devotees fast and recite Hanuman Chalisa on Purnima marking Hanuman’s birth.

Niyam (rules)

1. Follow satvik diet and avoid tamasic substances on the vrat day.
2. Keep speech truthful, calm, and devotional.
3. Consult local pandit guidance for regional variations in timing.

Vidhi (how to observe)

1. Wake early, bathe, and set up a clean puja space.
2. Light a lamp and invoke the deity linked to the observance.
3. Offer flowers, fruit, and simple bhog with family prayers.
4. Read the vrat katha and chant the recommended mantra.
5. Conclude with aarti and break fast only in the prescribed window.
6. Offer sindoor, jasmine oil, and laddu to Hanuman ji.
7. Read Sundara Kanda or Hanuman Chalisa 11 times if possible.
