Vidhi (how to observe)

1. Wake early, bathe, and set up a clean puja space.
2. Light a lamp and invoke the deity linked to the observance.
3. Offer flowers, fruit, and simple bhog with family prayers.
4. Read the vrat katha and chant the recommended mantra.
5. Conclude with aarti and break fast only in the prescribed window.
6. Install or invoke Ganesh murti with pranapratishtha.
7. Offer modak, durva grass, and red flowers; avoid moon sighting on first night per tradition.
